IT Strategy, Policy, and Planning I have been involved in all aspects of IT and business strategy from delivering technical solutions to partnering with business units to drive the organization’s success. 

Maximizing the effectiveness of this process has included:  

  • Collaborating with line of business executives to review organizational objectives and identify potential technology solutions  
  • Developing business case justifications and supporting IT project budgets jointly owned with the business unit  
  • Establishing jointly agreed measurements of success tied to business unit objectives  
  • Aligning IT and business stakeholders on project teams to maintain focus on specified goals  
  • Developing IT architecture lifecycle plans that minimize total cost of ownership while maximizing business benefits  
  • Generating an enterprise IT strategic plan that provides rationale for prioritization of investment decisions

Program & Project Management

I have led efforts to drive improvements in process for management of IT projects and programs in large organizations. 

Achieving success in this area requires:  

  • Establishing shared business and IT governance of project and program investments
  • Implementing project management methodology to provide guidance for development efforts and to ensure transparency on risks and issues
  • Creating stage gate process to ensure scope, costs and timeline remain on track to achieve initiative objectives
  • Developing a management dashboard to ensure all stakeholders have visibility to progress
  • Building a high-performing culture that learns from set-backs and thrives on success  

IT Organizational Management

I have been involved in all aspects of building, restructuring and continuously improving an IT organization in times of business expansion and contraction. 

Specific activities to drive long-term achievement included:

IT Operations

I have successfully implemented process improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and effectiveness, while reducing total cost of ownership. 

Activities in this area have included:    

  • Partnering with internal audit function to develop and monitor critical IT business controls to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley directive
  • Implementing workflow solutions to effectively track, monitor and control all IT service requests ·       
  • Establishing IT and project steering committees to ensure alignment of IT efforts with critical business objectives    
  • Creating operations scorecards to assess health and effectiveness of IT delivery efforts ·       
  • Launching vendor management program to standardize process, rationalize vendor base and control external IT costs
  • Developing and enhancing systems development methodology to control risk and ensure compliance with industry best practices

IT Systems Implementations & Migrations

I have led multiple IT implementations projects of varying size and scope across a diverse array of business functions.

  • Assisting customer in choice of appropriate destination systems ·       
  • Planning out upgrade/migration in detail ·       
  • Executing upgrades and migrations in as non-disruptive a manner as possible ·
